Richard Philip DeLorme Sr., was called to Heaven on January 24, 2022. The son of Cecil and Angie DeLorme, Richard was born in Darlington, SC on March 12, 1947. He was a resident of Surfside Beach for the last 35 years. Richard retired from UPS in 2009, after providing 37 years of service. He is survived by the following: his wife Mary, his children Richard “Rich” Philip DeLorme, Jr. and Michelle “Micki” (Gary) DeLorme Dove, his grandson Crosland “Davis” Bryant, his brother Charles Crosland “Boobie” (Sue) DeLorme, and his sisters Mary “Skeeter” (Joe) DeLorme Meloy and Marie “Scooter” (George “Tank”) DeLorme Barnette. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who all held a special place in his heart. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, whose loving heart and carefree ways will always be cherished.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Richard’s 75th birthday on March 12, 2022 at Darlington Country Club from 3-5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coastal Carolina University’s Chanticleer Athletic Foundation, which brought him much joy in the last years of his life.
