Richard Fraser, aged 89, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Clifton J. and Ann M. (Barrette) Fraser, his former wife Shirley A. Fraser, his son Keith E. Hurley (Kathy) and his grandson Nathan A. Hurley. 

He is survived by his brother Robert D. Fraser, niece Dawn P. Klein (Rudy), daughter-in-law Rita F. Lewis (Jim), granddaughter Nicole R. Griepp (Jonathan) and great-granddaughters Kenadee and Maddison.  Richard is also fondly remembered by his special friend Connie Krueger, his dedicated caretakers Amanda Miles, Denise Rann, Paula Messina, McKensie Amburgey and his very special fur baby, Lilly.

He worked for 36 years at Pat Milliken Ford in Detroit Michigan until his retirement, Richard enjoyed a very successful career and won many awards as a salesman. 

As a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach, Richard served faithfully as a Stephen Minister and as Concert Master for the Brown Bradley Promenade Concert Series.  His commitment to his faith and his community extended beyond the church; he volunteered as a driver for the Neighbor-to-Neighbor organization and was actively involved in the Claire Epps YMCA.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dona Lee and to his caretakers at Embrace Hospice and Gentiva Hospice and Home Watch for their exceptional care of Richard in his final days.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach at a future date in the fall.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard's name to the First Presbyterian Church Life Center.
