Richard Franklin "Pete" Knox, Jr. Obituary

Richard Franklin “Pete” Knox, Jr., age 77, of Little River, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Richard was born December 24, 1948 in Indianola, Mississippi, a son of the late Richard Franklin Knox, Sr. and Maureen Caldwell Knox.  He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he was a Military Intelligence Coordinator, attaining the rank of Seargeant.  After his military career, he went on to own several businesses along the way, and went on retiring from Walgreens as a General Manager/Pharmaceutical Tech.  Richard loved fishing, camping, riding his Harley, reading books, especially science fiction and he loved his Washington Redskins.  Richard was a quiet man and loved to get together with his family and friends and if you were lucky enough to engage in conversation with him, you realized his wealth of knowledge.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Sandy Knox, beloved step-children, Kelly Michael Lewis, Jr. and his partner, Eileen Alers, Valerie Rae Burnelle and her husband, Andre, and his two beloved grandsons, Nicholas “Nico” Gonzalez and Ryan Burnelle, a sister, Sue Weaver (David), Mark Knox (Susan), John Knox (Vivian), and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
