Robert Peter Olivet, 84, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, formerly of LaGrange, New York, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.


Robert was born on July 10, 1941, to the late Waldo and Sally Olivet. He graduated from Arlington High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965, receiving an honorable discharge for his dedicated service.


In 1965, Robert married the love of his life, Beverly Hart Olivet, who survives him at home. Together, they built a loving family and shared over 60 years of marriage filled with devotion, strength, and countless memories.


Robert was a devoted father to his two children, Paul Olivet (Kelly) and Karlene Healy, and a proud grandfather to Colin Power and Jake Healy, who brought him tremendous joy. In addition to his sister Joyce Yergey of Hyde Park, N.Y. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.


Bob retired from Central Hudson after many years of hard work and commitment. In addition to his career, Robert dedicated 50 years of service as a volunteer firefighter with the LaGrange Fire Department in New York, faithfully serving and protecting his community with courage and compassion.


Robert will be remembered as a caring husband, father, grandfather, veteran, firefighter, and friend. His quiet strength, dedication to family, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.


He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and loved ones.


In keeping with his wishes, a private service has taken place.
