Roswitha (Rose.) Ostgaard (Kuhn) was born March 25, 1930 in Neu Isenburg, Germany
Rose grew up in the war torn West Germany during WW2. She lived through a childhood of being bombed and spending countless nights in bunkers. Despite all of these horrors, she raised her children to love everyone, to respect all and most of all to be kind She lead by example.
Rose met her husband of 63 years in Germany as she sold the Stars and Stripes
Newspaper on the Airforce base, where Allen was stationed.
They were married December 25, 1954. When Allen was discharged, they moved back to the US, where they settled in Milwaukee. Later they moved to Hartford and retired to Wisconsin Dells.
Al and Rose raised 4 children, Liane, Roy, Brian and Cheryl.
Rose was always a busy lady she was trained as a furrier in Germany and worked for
several fur stores in Milwaukee_ Later she had her own ceramic studio where she taught classes, held craft shows and consignment.
Rose was always known to all her friends and family for her awesome cooking and baking. Everyone wanted to eat at the Ostgaard house.
Al and Rose loved to camp in their RV and traveling around the country. They settled in at their favorite place. Christmas Mountain in Wisconsin Dells. They loved driving their golf cart, swimming and visiting with the neighbors.
The last 2 years they have been living with their daughter Cheryl and her husband Wade in Myrtle Beach.
Rose passed peacefully at home Friday, June 26, 2020. She is survived by her husband Allen, daughter Liane (Dave) Brimble, Son Roy (friend Lisa), Daughter Cheryl (Wade) O'Bryon. Sister Annie, Granddaughters Buffy (Tony) Santoes, Virginia (Billy) Hoyle, Grandsons Timmy (Steph) Ostgaard and Troy Ostgaard, Great Grandchildren Cohn, Quinten, Miata and Chance. Many nieces and nephews, Sister in laws Darlene Bloczel, and Ada Ostgaard.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Otto and Johanna Kuhn, son Brian Ostgaard and grandson Peter Brimble.
The family is planning a celebration of life later this fall in Wisconsin.
