Samuel Weinshenker Obituary

Samuel Weinshenker of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away January 3, 2025, at age 92. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his six children and their spouses (Vi and Mike, Seth and Jenny, Brian and Karen, Elizabeth, Linda and Barry, and Eric), six grandchildren and their spouses (Steven and Sara, Cortney, Susan and Brandon, Brian, Ari, and Sophie), and six great-grandchildren (Jack, Mila, Lila, Danny, Adam, and Matthew).
Born the youngest of four children to Sophie and Jacob, Sam loved reminiscing about his growing up in Brooklyn with his three siblings, Morris, Reuben, and Belle. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he had a long career in retail management.
When Joanne, his wife of over 50 years fell ill, he became her loving caregiver until her passing in 2023.
Sam loved spending time with his family, whether at Chinese buffets, eating ice cream, or watching his favorite TV shows. He enjoyed watching sports and talking about baseball and football. He loved animals, especially his cats, fishing, sitting on the beach, and enjoyed feeding the animals that visited his backyard. He had great memories of his trips to Disneyland, to see the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and Maui, Hawaii with his family.
We will remember his kindheartedness, quiet strength, humility, dry sense of humor, and hearty laughter.  Everyone he met and worked with loved him.  His philosophy of life was “do unto others as you would have others do unto you”.
We will miss our dad and grandpa every day.
