Sandra “Sandy” Clarke, 60, of Conway, SC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2025. 

Sandy was born on May 15, 1964, to Barbara and Charles Enlow in Myrtle Beach, SC. After Sandy graduated from Socastee High School in 1982, she moved to Texas where her love for animals bloomed. 

While in Texas she owned a pet store and had many many friends who became family. She had her daughter Michael-Ann at age 30 and then moved back home to South Carolina where her parents were. 

She met her current husband, Mickey Bass, in the early 2000s bringing him and his daughter Kayla Bass into the family forever. She spent her time working from home, going to the beach, teaching the kids how to surf, driving her daughter and all of her daughter’s friends around wherever they wanted to go, she fostered animals to find them homes, rescued animals off the street and brought them back to health. She was a Girl Scout leader, a friend, a mom, daughter and wife, the neighborhood hang out house and her light shined so bright. 

Sandy and her family moved to Conway, SC in 2010 where her love for horses on top of the animals really got to shine. With the land she acquired, she fostered horses, raised goats, alpacas, chickens. She got her two favorite boys JD and Blackjack and was finally able to thrive in the horse community. She was always volunteering for the American Heart Association rides as well as other fundraising events. Her selfless heart rescued animals from the floods of Matthew. She was always there for people when they needed it and she found so many people who loved her. She was always smiling and happy, doing what she loved. God put her on this earth to be her daughter’s best friend and take care of those around her no matter what. 

The world is a little less bright without her here, but Heaven is brighter. 

Sandy is predeceased by her parents Barbara and Charles Enlow, her brother Alan Enlow and sister-in-law Kim Enlow as well as her nephew Justice Enlow and grandson Jackson Mahone. She is survived by husband Mickey Bass, daughter Michael-Ann Mahone (Saxton), grandson Kayden Mahone and nieces Britney Jones and Sarah Enlow. 

Services will be held at First Baptist Conway GracePoint Church 603 Elm St. Conway, SC on Saturday March 22 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Fleet of Angels, an organization Sandy supported and felt strongly about.

Cremation Services Direct (843-651-1194) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is assisting the family with the arrangements.
