Sheila Jean Mattox

Sheila Jean Mattox, 62, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday April 20, 2020 at Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina. She was born on November 2, 1957 in Loris, South Carolina to the late Elbert & Mildred (Hardee) Bullard.

Along with her parents, Sheila is reunited in death with her sister, Evelyn Causey; her aunts, Bernice Hillbourne & Virginia Pender.

Sheila was a faithful woman with a heart of gold. She regularly attended Langston Baptist Church in Conway. When Sheila wasn’t making memories with her beloved family she could be found shopping for treasures at Goodwill. Sheila will forever be remembered for the amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that she truly was.

Left to cherish Sheila’s memory are her husband of 22 years, Mr. William “Bill” Smith of Conway; her children, Rhonda Homan of Fort Worth, TX, & Sandra Collins of Conway; step-daughter, Jennifer Hudson and her husband, Greg of Galivants Ferry, SC; grandchildren, Alyssa Hudson, Skyler Reynolds, & Nicole Rasmus; sister, Carol Blanton and her husband, Michael of Loris, SC; her beloved dogs, Sophie and Cesar; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration Sheila’s life will be held at a later date. Those details will be announced when finalized.
