Shelia Overby Harlin Obituary

Shelia Overby Harlin, 73, formerly of Warsaw, Virginia, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away Friday August 22, 2025, at the Grand Strand Medical Center.


Shelia was born February 1, 1952, in Richmond, Virginia to the late George and Ruth (Andrews) Overby.


Left to cherish Shelia’s memory are her son Chris Adcock and his wife Lisa, daughter Melissa Greenfield, grandchildren Katelyn, Ashley, Matti, Trey, and Tanner, Her sister Angela Thomas and her husband Danny, aunts Racheal Getz, and Doris Overby, her cousin and best friend Sharon Perkinson, along with numerous nieces, cousins, and friends.


Shelia was preceded in death by her father George and stepmother Mable Overby, her mother Ruth and stepfather Page Tipton, sisters Sandra Cash and Linda Soden.


In her spare time Shelia enjoyed quilting, painting, basket weaving, shopping, cooking, going to the beach, and taking care of others. Shelia will be missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on through those who were lucky enough to be close to her.


The family would like to recognize the Grand Strand Neuroscience ICU nurses and staff for the excellent care that was provided. You guys are amazing, thank you!
