It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Steven Burzo Sr. age 70 of Conway, South Carolina, on March 13, 2025.  After beating lung cancer, he passed away after a courageous battle with liver cancer, surrounded by loved ones.

Steven, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, was born on May 2, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY, Steven was the son of the late John and Anna Burzo. He spent much of his early life in South Ozone Park, Queens, NY, where he had made many lifelong friendships that he cherished deeply. In 2013, Steven and his devoted wife, Linda, retired to Conway, South Carolina, where they enjoyed their golden years together.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Linda Burzo; his three children, Dania, Steven Jr, and Kerry.; his three stepchildren, Jacqueline, Christina, and Charles; and his siblings; Joseph, John, and Roseanne. He was preceded in death by his late sister, Marie. 

Steven was also the proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Shawn, Joanna, Steven, Bianca, Michael, and Beau. He is survived by many family members, friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Steven was known for his kind heart, infectious sense of humor, and love of life. His nickname, "Laughing Gas," perfectly captured his ability to light up any room with laughter. He was also affectionately called “Bones” by his lifelong friends the “Young Hoods” from South Ozone Park. 

Steven especially enjoyed taking rides on his golf cart with his loyal dogs, Susie and Bella. Bella has since passed away, but she is now with Steven once more. Steven loved classic cars and oldies music. He took joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially the time spent with those he loved most.

Above all, Steven’s greatest joy was being surrounded by his family and friends. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable happiness.

A celebration of Steven's life will be held at a later date.

Steven will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his loving spirit, warm laughter, and the impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
