Thomas Huff Obituary

Our beloved Tom went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon January 28, 2024.  His wife and daughter were at home by his side as he went peacefully.  Tom was a special Valentine’s gift born on February 14th, 1948, to Ermalee (Rose) Huff and Elmer Huff, Jr.  in Huntington, W.Va.

Growing up Tom enjoyed playing with his siblings, golf (where he worked as a caddy), and roller skating where he met his future wife.   After graduation Tom and Donna married on December 30, 1966.  They were blessed with a daughter, Dana, on August 29, 1969.  Tom joined the United States Air Force where he served from April 1968 to July 1990.  He was very proud to be a Vietnam Veteran.  After that service he was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii for 10 years.  A love of golf caused him to choose Myrtle Beach Air Force Base as his next assignment which was approved.  He was stationed there from October 1981 to July 1990 when he retired.  Tom excelled at golf and represented the base in many tournaments in the United States and overseas.

After retirement, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was the president of a hunting club for 10 years where he had several friendships which he treasured.  During trips to West Virginia to visit family, he shared many happy moments hunting with his brother, Gene.   In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brothers Gene and Kenny Huff.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Donna Charlene (Shaver) Huff, daughter, Dana Gale Huff and her fiancé Leroy Edward Todd;  sister,  Melanie Ann Whisman (Rick) ;  brothers,  Bruce Huff and Bo Blake (Barb); Aunt, Wanda Duncan; Uncle Pedro Jones (Sharon); Sister in Law,  Linda Wyatt (Jimmy); niece Tammy (Huff) Stewart (Jerry); niece Staci Smith D.O. (Deborah) and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.   A very special mention is also given to loved ones who have gone to heaven including Lana Renee (Combs) Hanson, Troy Combs, Travis Huff and Jimmy Robinson.
