Obituary
Thomas Shorts passed away peacefully at Embrace Hospice House after an 8 year-long battle with cancer on June 17th, 2022. Thomas was born in Erding, Germany on February 19th, 1950, and grew up in Cooperstown, Pennsylvania. He proudly earned his American citizenship in 1974. He touched many lives with his kind and humble nature and will be missed by many. An artist at heart; he was an avid photographer, loved surrealism, science fiction, felt most free on his bike, and had a curious mind about anything mysterious. His love of the ocean led him to call Myrtle Beach, SC his home in 1996.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Emilie J. M. Shorts, and by his father Frank L. Shorts. He is survived by three daughters: Thom Ann, Charity, and Jessica; two grandchildren; 2 sisters: Monica and Sonya; 4 brothers: Theo, Ernest, Ed, and Larry; and numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas thought very highly of the nurses and doctors at Coastal Cancer Center and at Amedisys Hospice and regarded them as his angels.
