Thomas S. Vance, age 84, passed away on February 9, 2026. He is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife of 64 years, Zella A. Vance. A devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born to Granville A. Vance and Icy I. Vance in Gassaway, West Virginia, Thomas was deeply rooted in his family and community. He is survived by his four daughters:

Candy Cadle of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and her husband Bobby, along with their daughters, Jennifer and Michelle.

Sherry Vance of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, her stepson Cody Higginbotham and wife Tiffany with their son Scott.

Tammy Ceriani of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and her late husband, James G. Ceriani, who had a daughter, Tiffany Crawford, and her husband, Brandon, along with their three children: Aiden, Nicholas, and Zoie.

Sonya Purcell of Louisville, Kentucky, who, along with her late husband Bob Purcell, raised children Ronnie Drake III of Cleburne, Texas, Brandon Drake of Louisville, Kentucky, and Rachel Villa Gomez of Louisville, Kentucky. and her husband, Sergio, their children: Daniela, Victor (Anna), and their twins, Isabela and Nova, as well as Cassandra Villa Gomez. Sonya's family also includes Renee Purcell and her children, Kaitlyn Allen and TJ Allen.

A retired Boilermaker from Local #667, Thomas enjoyed a fulfilling career and spent his retirement surrounded by friends and family. His warmth, kindness, and dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be held at this time.

Thomas leaves behind a rich legacy of love that will continue through his family for generations to come.
