William Patrick Bruehert

With immense sadness, we announce William Bruehert, a loving father, spouse and brother, has passed away at the age of 59. He was welcomed into rest by his mother, Kathleen Hughes Bruehert, and father, Edward G. Bruehert. He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Bruehert and Samantha Bruehert. 

He was not a man of many words, and when he did speak there was that endearing mumble to sort through; but he had a wry sense of humor that could leave you in stitches without warning. His youth was spent wildly galavanting around with his brothers, John Bruehert, Edward T. Bruehert and Richard Bruehert, cousin, James Hollywood, and friends. He spent his twenties fearless and full of adrenaline as he volunteered with the Baldwin Fire Department and courted his future wife, Melanie Kopp, who was welcomed into his family with open arms. In his thirties and beyond, he worked tirelessly to support the family he built - they were always his number one priority, even through the most turbulent times. He loved fiercely, but quietly - more like a passing thunderstorm than a constant wind. And, gosh, he loved thunderstorms. He will be remembered by all who knew him when the first notes of Piano Man come across any speaker. We loved him more than even he knew, and he will be sorely missed. 

A burial service will take place on Monday, September 18th at 12:30pm at St. Charles Resurrection Cemeteries (2015 Wellwood Avenue Farmingdale, NY 11735). All who would like to attend, please arrive at the Cemetery Office at 12:30pm. Afterwards, the family will hold a Celebration of Life at Johnny McGorey’s Pub (131 Front St, Massapequa Park, NY 11762) - time to follow.
