Willie Lee McKever, 60, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at his residence. He was born June 20, 1965, in Salters, SC, son of the late, Jimmy McKever, Sr. and Daisy Mae Felder McKever.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy McKever, Jr., Arthur Leroy, and Solomon McKever; as well as his twin sister, Johnnie Lee McKever.
He is survived by two brothers, Benjamin McKever of Kingstree, SC and Bishop Moses McKever and his wife, Odessa of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Louida McKever of Kingstree, SC, Rosalee McKever Jenkins and her husband, Ronald of Kingstree, SC, Betty Ann McKever of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Dinah Mae Benjamin of Columbia, SC; special nephew and right hand man, Maurice McKever; special niece, Kiara Benjamin; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Willie loved watching his teams play— he was an avid Redskins, Tarheels, and Lakers fan. Known to friends and family as “Chill Will,” he had a calm yet commanding demeanor. Willie loved to laugh and had a hand in raising several of his nieces, nephews, and even their kids. To know him was to love him.
Willie graduated from C.E. Murray High School in 1983 and attended Marion Missionary Baptist Church in Salters. He worked at Phoenix Medical in Andrews, SC for many years.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Willie is whole again, walking the streets of Heaven, reunited with his loved ones.
